The Letter.

'Meet me after school. Backstage. -Secret Admirer'

That was all the note said.

Now, when I had dreamed of getting a letter on Valentine's day, I had imagined it to be filled with kind words and beautiful expressions.

Not vague instructions.

I sighed and shoved the note in my bag then grabbed my books and shut my locker. Well, at least I had the whole day to figure out who had sent it. The thing was, I already had a few ideas.

FIRST PERIOD: ALGEBRA

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I rushed in just as the bell rang and scooted into my seat next to one of my suspects, Alfred F. Jones. I know he had a thing for me at one point, but I really doubted that he was the sender. It would have been bigger and more outgoing if it was from him.
"Good Morning Al."
"Mornin' to you too, babe." I sighed and took out the homework the teacher had already started going over. "Pssst."
"I glanced over at him. "What?"
"Looks like you've already got a valentine." he said smirking at the paper poking out from my purse. I hastily pushed it down in farther and blushed. "So tell me, who's the lucky guy?"
I turned back to the board. "None of your business. Besides, it's not really much of a love letter and it doesn't say." He laughed loudly and said, "Well who would send a confession by card? That's pretty lame."
Well, it definitely wasn't him.
SECOND PERIOD: HISTORY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I hadn't bothered stopping by my locker for my stuff, knowing that'd we be watching a movie today. The untouchables: such a romantic movie for Valentine's day.

I shared this class with two of my close friends: Lovino and Feliciano Vargas. Feli waved me over enthusiastically and I took the empty seat next to Lovino. "Happy Valentine's day ______!" the happy go lucky twin greeted me with a hug.

"Happy valentine's day to you to Feli! And you too Lovino! Either of you guys have a valentine?" Lovino frowned and turned away.

"NO! And-a I don't want a stupid date anyways!"

Unfortunately for him, a certain spaniard overheard him. "Lovi! Are jou serious? Everyone wants someone to love on Valentine's day!"

Lovino slammed his head down on the desk. "Go away tomato-bastard! And don't call me Lovi dammit!" The teacher mumbled at us to stop fighting and put in the movie.

Looks like I could cross the grumpy Italian off the list.

THIRD PERIOD: ENGLISH

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Whitehead was out again, leaving us with a lazy sub. "Just try not to talk too loudly, alright?' he said before resuming his book. I mentally cheered and took out my sketchbook, wanting to finish a drawing I was working on. I flipped it open and fell into a state of focus, drowning out my surroundings.
This made me oblivious to the impending danger.
Red eyes bore into the back of my head, the mouth attached to them emitting a "Kesesesese" sound. He slowly made his way over to my desk, then grabbed me from behind. I shot out of my daydream and instinctively punched whoever it was holding me.
"OW! FRAU! Zhat vasn't cool!" Gilbert said. He released his grip on me and clutched his nose in pain. Elizaveta started laughing hysterically, clutching her stomach as she came over.
"Hahahahaha! Nice vone ______! You really got him good!"
I struggled to hold back my own laughter. "S-sorry Gil! But you really shouldn't have snuck up on me like that!"
He shot daggers at the two of us, giggling and holding our sides. "It's not funny!Vhy zhe heck are you laughing? Not awesome frau, not awesome at all. I just rolled my eyes, having already ruled him out. If he confessed, he'd make sure it was big and 'awesome'.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

FOURTH PERIOD: FRENCH

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
None of the potential candidates left were in there with me. My friend Francis was the teacher's assistant, seeing how he knew French better than Madame Barry. I had originally thought it was him, but quickly ruled it out. There definitely would have been a lot more in the note if that was the case. And most likely a phrase or two in the language of love.
We took a quiz on that chapter's vocab and I finished early. I passed my paper in to Madame and then took a seat next to Francis.
"'appy Valentine's day, mon amie~" He pulled a rose out from god-knows-where and offered it to me. I took it, smiling. "Zo I 'eard zhat you 'ave a secret admirer, non?" He stared at me with a knowing glint in his eyes.
"Yeah, how'd you know?" He shrugged.
"I 'ave my ways."
"Do you know who it is?" I asked. It had been bugging me all day. If he could tell me, it would get this off my chest and I could finally relax.
He didn't meet my eyes. "I....I can't tell you zhat. 'e would be very un'appy wiz me."
I sighed and slumped down on the table. We sat there, not saying anything until he broke the silence. "'o do you want eet to be?"
I blushed and looked away. I knew perfectly well who I wished had sent the letter. Sadly his stubbornness and tsundere attitude didn't really seem to fit with the note. "You know who I want it to be. I know it wasn't him. I closed my eyes and rested my head on my arms.
"Do not be zo zure~" Francis mumbled to himself.
"What?" I said, not hearing him.
"Oh nozhing, nozhing..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

FIFTH PERIOD: CHEMISTRY

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ivan was already there by the time I arrived. I took the seat in front of him and said hi. I've always felt kind of bad for him, as most people see him as big and scary. The truth is, he's really sweet and kind, just misunderstood. He reminds me of Lennie from Of Mice and Men, except a much gentler giant.
"Privet, sunflower. Happy Valentine's day." he greeted me with a soft smile.
"Happy Valentine's day to you too! Have you got any plans for tonight?"
He grimaced. "Da. Sister is taking me out to see a movie." I winced sympathetically, knowing first hand just how controlling she could be.
When Ivan and I had become friends, she had freaked out and chased me around the parking lot. She kept screaming at me to stay away from her brother.
"Sorry about that."
Looks like it wasn't him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

LUNCH

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After chemistry we headed down to the lunch room and split up. Ivan went to find seats at our regular table, while I went and bought lunch. I sat down next to Francis and Yao. Yao was the oldest of us all and acted like a surrogate older brother to me, seeing as I had none. He was usually calm and relaxed, but today something had upset him.
"Aiyah! ______, what is this I hear about you having a boyfriend?"
"W-what? Where did that come from? I don't have a boyfriend!" I said , utterly confused.
Yao looked at Alfred wolfing down burgers. "I jusht told 'imm about your shecrt admirrer!"
"You made it sound like she was dating someone!" He turned back to me. "You are far to young to be dating. I do not approve aru." I opened my moth to object, but someone beat me to it.
"It's her own bloody business whether our not she wants to go out with anyone!" I blushed at the Brit's  words, looking up to see his bushy eyebrows furrowed . I cleared my throat, trying to ignore the burning sensation in my ears.
"A-anyways guys, I have something for you all." I reached in my bag and pulled out boxes of candy, handing them out to each of them. "Happy Valentine's day!" Most of the boys got chocolates or gummies and a card, except for Arthur. I had spent extra long on his, wording it right and perfecting it, and had bought him candies imported for England. My hand shook as I gave him his, then I looked away and sat down quickly. They all thanked me in their native tongues. Or at least, I think they did. We finished our lunches after that, making small talk until the bell rang.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SIXTH PERIOD: CREATIVE WRITING.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I walked to class with Arthur and Lovino, trying not to blush. Yesterday we had written love poetry, and Mrs. Mack had told us that she'd pick the best one's and read them out to the class. I, of course not thinking, had written about Arthur.
And of course, she read it.
I didn't put any specifics in there, so luckily no one could tell, but I still covered my face for the whole period, then rushed right out the door as the bell rang.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SEVENTH PERIOD: GYM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Volleyball. The best sport ever. I dominated in this game, not letting anything get past me. It was a nice distraction from the mystery letter.
I changed back into my regular clothes and freshened up a bit. It would have been horrible to show up sweating and in gym shorts. I left the locker room and was immediately greeted by a high five from Al.
"Nice job dude! Seriously, how the hell did you get so good at volleyball?"
I shrugged. "I don't know, it just comes naturally I guess."
"So, you ready to meet your secret valentine?" My heart started racing and I swallowed nervously.
"I-I guess so. I've been trying to figure out who it is all day, but," I sighed. "I still have no clue."
He stopped walking suddenly. I hadn't been paying attention, so I was confused at first. Then I realized where we were.
The back entrance to the auditorium.
Alfred gave me a slight push. "Later dude! Have fuuuuuuun!" He laughed then ran off.
Swallowing my cowardice, I grabbed the handle of the door and pulled it open.
The stage was empty, save for a single chair set up in the middle. I glanced around, looking for somebody, but saw no one. Slowly, I approached the chair. Resting on the metal chair was a card. I picked it up and read it.
'Turn around.'
I did as instructed and gasped, a hand flying up to my mouth. Standing there in front of me, dressed in a tuxedo and holding a bouquet of roses, was none other than Arthur Kirkland.
His face was a bright red and he didn't meet my eye. "H-happy Valentine's day, love. I was wondering.... if you weren't busy tonight...." He tugged on his collar nervously. "That maybe you'd let me take you out to dinner?"
I stood there shocked. Arthur wanted.... to date me?
I held out a shaking hand and grasped the roses. Looking down into them, I blushed and said softly, "I'd love to."
He looked up at me, a grin slowly spreading across his features. He seemed ecstatic to hear me say yes.
He offered out his arm like the gentleman he was and led me out of the auditorium.
Maybe love letters didn't need to say much.
Valentine's day has come and gone and I was single yet again. So I wrote this in class to make me feel better.
I know it sucks, but It's a quarter past 2 in the morning here and I just don't give a damn. I might be entering this into a few contests for shits and giggles.
I actually based this off my day in school. We're really watching Untouchables(which is pretty good so far, I recommend it if you haven't seen it), had a quiz in French(which I'm pretty sure I failed; even though I say that every time), Played volleyball in gym(Which is freaking awesome) and our English teacher was out(The teacher's names are all real teacher's of mine. Mrs Mack is actually the art teacher, but I was writing it in her class and I don't remember who is in charge of creative writing).
Please guys, comment if you're going to bother to favorite. It's really depressing opening up messages, expecting commenters, but finding only a few people did and 30-something people just favorited. Even if it's just a single letter, That's fine with me.
So thank you.
I don't own anything but the story line, so don't sue me! XD
Happy Valentine's day you guys!
Hahahahahahahahaha! Yeah. Apparently the chorus in my school, if you pay some money, they'll do some kind of song or something...
